Xiaomi Launched the New Phone POCO C40 which equipped with JLQ Technology JR510 ICs Platform

On 16 June, Xiaomi’s new phone POCO C40 was officially launched. As a popular phone model for the mass market, POCO C40 has a simple appearance and comprehensive configuration. In particular, this phone model has built-in JLQ Technology 4G smartphone ICs platform JR510, which provides POCO C40 the superior AI performance and image use experience.



Large display with high resolution and excellent camera capabilities


POCO C40 adopts the largest display size in the history of POCO brand: 6.71-inch display, dot drop design with the resolution of 1650*720HD+. While JR510 supports video 1080P+ resolution display, with a frame rate of up to 60 frames per second, so it can easily drive this large display.


In terms of camera images, POCO C40 uses rear dual cameras, with a 13MP main camera, a 2MP depth sensor and a 5MP front camera. With the superior configuration and an ISP deeply optimized by JR510, and a built-in vision processor vDSP, POCO C40 users can experience the fun of shooting anytime and anywhere. Even in low-lightscenes, users can get vivid and accurate images or videos.


Leading ICs to meet differentiated requirements


On the main ICs, POCO C40 is equipped with JR510 high-performance octa-core processor, which has smooth performance and balanced power consumption, providing POCO with value-for-money performance.

In addition, JR510 has three major characteristics, namely hardware AI acceleration, multimedia enhancement and rich peripheral interfaces.


In terms of AI applications, JR510 integrates an independent hardware AI acceleration (NPU) processor, which can provide 1.2TOPS computing power. Through hardware AI acceleration, JR510 has obvious advantages over same positioning competitors in AI computing, vision and image processing, and audio algorithm implementation.



In order to better present the multimedia user experience of intelligent terminal, JR510 not only integrates the vision processor vDSP realized by hardware, but also further optimizes the ISP design. It provides users with more than ten camera algorithms such as night scene and beauty, and also supports rich functions such as face recognition, intelligent beauty and image noise reduction during shooting, which greatly increases the fun of POCO C40 users’ image experience.



At the same time, JR510 has rich interfaces. JR510 supports USB 2.0, SDIO 3.0, I2S, I2C, UART and other peripheral interfaces. In terms of flash memory interface, it also supports eMMC 5.1 and UFS 2.1. Rich interfaces make convenience to mobile phone manufacturers for differentiated design.



The smartphone ICs JR510 launched by JLQ Technology this time was taped out in the first half of 2021. The ICs was successfully taped out in August of the same year, and achieved all the authentication links of Google GMS on the client terminal version in just five months. At present, the first commercial terminal equipped with JR510 has been officially launched, and the efficient speed fully reflects JLQ Technology’s excellent research and development capabilities in ICs technology development, engineering and landing applications.
